As his moniker suggests, Mr. Luggs is very obese and prefers all-you-can-eat buffets to three meals a day. In fact, Mr. Luggs actually died by overeating. However, even in death Luggs was not satisfied, and spent his afterlife eating food in the [[Dining Room]] of [[Luigi's Mansion (place)|Luigi's Mansion]]. [[Luigi]] did not need to capture Mr. Luggs to help him in the quest to find his brother [[Mario]]. After acquiring the key to the Dining Room, Luigi could simply pass Mr. Luggs and head into the [[Kitchen (Luigi's Mansion)|Kitchen]]. However, if Luigi captured Luggs, the green-clad ghost hunter would be rewarded with lots of treasure.


If Luigi chose to capture Mr. Luggs, he would discover the Glutton next to the Dining Room table, shoving ghost jelly into his mouth. Peculiarly, Luggs ate in the dark, and after Luigi used the [[Game Boy Horror]], Luggs' heart revealed that the gluttonous ghost preferred not to be seen. As such, Luigi captured a [[Elemental Ghost|Fire Elemental Ghost]] from a nearby torch with his [[Poltergust 3000]]. The [[plumber]] then proceeded to shoot flames at the table's candles, setting them aflame. After lighting all the candles, Mr. Luggs and his dinner would become visible. However, Luggs could not be captured yet. To make Mr. Luggs vulnerable, Luigi began to suck up Mr. Luggs' ghost jelly with his trusty vacuum. Two [[Waiter (ghost)|Waiters]] would attempt to resupply Mr. Luggs with more jelly, from their serving plates to his. Luigi quickly disposed of them with the Poltergust. Eventually, when all the food was gone, Mr. Luggs would become enraged and attack Luigi by spewing fifteen [[fireballs]] at the [[green plumber (Luigi) |green plumber]]. Each fireball caused ten HP of damage and would briefly light Luigi on fire. It would be best not to get close to the angry scarfer. However, due to his obesity, Mr. Luggs would quickly tire out and flop onto the table, rendering the portrait ghost vulnerable. Thus Luigi began to suck Mr. Luggs up with the Poltergust 3000. If he didn't, Mr. Luggs would get back up and breathe five more fireballs before tiring again. Although the portly ghost fought back with some strong pulls of his own, Luigi eventually emerged the victor.

Luigi's Mansion[edit]

Mr. Luggs is the first optional portrait ghost of Luigi's Mansion. If Luigi decides to catch Mr. Luggs, he first has to light every candle on the table for Mr. Luggs to become visible;[2] this is doable from the effects of a Fire Elemental Ghost. Mr. Luggs' food has to be vacuumed into his Poltergust 3000.[3] Mr. Luggs cannot have his food supply refilled if both of his Waiters have been vacuumed in. When Mr. Luggs runs out of food, he begins to spit fireballs at Luigi, infuriated.[4] Mr. Luggs tires out and becomes vulnerable to the Poltergust 3000. If Mr. Luggs is not caught in one go, he recovers and breathes more fireballs, but only five of them this time.[5] Once Mr. Luggs is captured, the lights turn on, revealing a green treasure chest. Mr. Luggs' portrait number in the Gallery is 11.[6]
