Why was the 1-Up Super merged with the 1-Up Mushroom. It is also a super mushroom, and since it is a combination of both, it doesn't make any sense to put all the info into 1-Up Mushroom. So I propose what the heading says, "Split the 1-Up Super from 1-Up Mushroom."

Split and Merge the "Mario and Luigi series section" from 1-Up Mushroom into the regular Mushroom article[edit]

do nothing 2-5
We merged all the other RPG mushrooms, except for the 1-Up Super, so we should merge this one. EDIT: There was a talk page proposal that proposed to merge all the Mario & Luigi series mushrooms, made by Baby Mario Bloops. Now, the recent 1-Up Super TPP said to merge that article into 1-Up Mushroom, and then I knew that not all the M&L series mushrooms were merged. I propose to clean up some stuff by merging the Mario and Luigi series section with the Mushroom article.

Split and Merge
  1. KS3 (talk) per proposal.
  2. Geniusguy445 (talk) i propose all three. http://www.mariowiki.com/Talk:1-Up_Super#Comments
Do nothing
  1. Tucayo (talk) - Why? No. It is a 1-Up mushroom, not a simple mushroom.
  2. Baby Mario Bloops (talk) - There is a reason for why we have the Super Mushroom page. The 1-up mushroom has been very common throughout the Mario Series. It has its own distinct name and appearance, doesn't act like any other kind of mushroom, and has a article that is not even close to a stub. Unless we merge the Super Mushroom page, along with other sub-mushrooms, then I completely oppose merging.
  3. Gamefreak75 (talk) Per all.
  4. Walkazo (talk) - Per all: they're too different to smash together this time.
  5. Mario Fan 123 - Tucayo is right. Do you doesn't know the difference between a 1-Up Mushroom and a NORMAL Mushroom? The 1-Up revives you from death, and the Mushroom only restores some HP when you are STILL alive, understand? Thank you for your time.

Split 1-up Super from 1-up Mushroom[edit]

Why was the 1-Up Super merged with the 1-Up Mushroom. It is also a super mushroom, and since it is a combination of both, it doesn't make any sense to put all the info into 1-Up Mushroom. So I propose what the heading says, "Split the 1-Up Super from 1-Up Mushroom."

Support[edit]

  1. Its-a-me Yoshi! (talk) I agree it makes no sense.
  2. Walkazo (talk) - As I said in my opposition of the proposal to merge them in the first place: "[The 1-Up Super is] both a Super Mushroom and a 1-Up Mushroom, so merging it with either would be a mistake, as would sticking it into the Mushroom article: it's unique, and should remain as a stand-alone article."
  3. General bob-omb (talk) pretty much per all.

Oppose[edit]

  1. Baby Mario Bloops (talk) - Come on! We have the M&L Mushroom thing merged, and they are different in healing. Max Mushroom, Ultra Mushroom, Super Mushroom (which could be with the Super Mushroom Page), Mushroom, they are similar in the case of 1-up Mushroom and 1-up super! It is consistent as it is now, and if this pass, we have to undo all the merging with the mushrooms and syrups and nuts. I'm sure that you don't want to have to redo all that...
  2. Homestar Runner (talk) They both do the same thing.
  3. Zero777 (talk) I am Zero! There was a reason why they were split and per HR. Zero signing out.
  4. Mario4Ever (talk) Per BMB.
  5. Super-Yoshi (talk) The 1-Up Super and 1-Up do the same things, except one refills max HP. We have all the Mushrooms from the M&L series merged, and the 1-Up Super would be a really minor article.

Comments[edit]

@Homestar Runner: If they both do the same thing then why don't we merge the 1-Up Mushroom and the 1-Up Super into the regular Mushroom article. KS3 (talk · contribute) 15:18, 11 July 2010 (UTC)

Um, because those don't do the same thing? 1-Up Mushroom gives the player an extra life/revives a Mario Bro. Regular mushrooms do other stuff. Superstar Daisy (talk) The 1-up and the 1-up super arent exactly the same thing even though they look the same. one gives you 1/2 HP and the Super gives you full. So they are different items.-Charmander.pngIts-a-meYoshi!Vapereon.png

@BMB: I'm willing to split the other Mushrooms in the Mushroom article for consistency if this fails. KS3 (talk · contribute)

Well also, we don't need to split it since it will more than likely be a stub such as the Mushrooms from my proposals on this talk page. If we this pass, it will not last by itself since it is so small, and we will just have to merge it back into with the 1-UP Mushroom Page. Also, it fits in the 1-UP page since in Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story they call it a 1-UP Deluxe. Baby Mario Bloops (talk)
Why was it merged into the 1-up mushroom article if its also a super mushroom? It's also pointless to have a section about the same thing in two articles. So why not give it its own article, and I think we can cram enough information and pictures into it to make it not a stub. General bob-omb.JPGGeneral bob-ombArtwork of a Bob-omb, from Mario Kart Wii.
and the rest of the games it's called a 1-UP Super. KS3 (talk · contribute) 17:52, 26 July 2010 (UTC)

Ks3 is blocked, so is this proposal still active?

Come on! Everyone this is part of the 1-UP family!!! It has the looks of a 1-up, it has the healing ablities of one, it has the 1-UP in it. It's a M&L item, and I really don't need another stub or very minor page that is useless. Baby

Surely not Hygrocybe psittacina[edit]

Someone on Wikipedia seems to think items like this should be illustrated with a photo of Hygrocybe psittacina and not a false-color photo of Amanita muscaria. Is there any indication in any source as to what fungus species inspired the appearance of the 1-Up Mushroom? --Tepples 18:13, 3 November 2010 (UTC)

Missing Sections[edit]

The 1-up Mushroom appears in Mario vs. Donkey Kong. Along with a 2-up Mushroom, 3-up Mushroom, and 5-up Mushroom. Shouldnt we have articles or at least sections in this article?

I agree. Also it appears twice as a sticker in Paper Mario Sticker Star.
