Red Rings, (also known as Red Coin Rings), are objects present in New Super Mario Bros. and New Super Mario Bros. Wii. When jumped through it will make eight Red Coins appear. If all Red Coins are collected, then the player receives an item depending on which form Mario is in. When Mario is in his standard or Mini form, a Super Mushroom will appear. If he is in his super form, a Fire Flower will appear. In New Super Mario Bros. Wii, a Propeller Mushroom, Ice Flower or Penguin Suit may appear instead, depending on the level. When Mario is in his Fire, Shell, Ice, Propeller, or his Penguin form, he will gain a 1-Up Mushroom.
In New Super Mario Bros. Wii, a Fire Flower, Propeller Mushroom, Ice Flower or Penguin Suit (depending on the level) is awarded if Mario is in his standard, Super or Mini form.
