Slipstreaming (also known as Drafting) is a technique often used in the Mario Kart series like Mario Kart 64, Mario Kart DS and Mario Kart Wii. If a player trails behind the other racer for a certain period of time, a ghost-line will appear in front of the kart, and gives the player a temporary speed boost.
