Yoshi's Island is where the Yoshis originated. The island is part of a larger land called Dinosaur Land and first appeared in Super Mario World.
Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island
It next appeared in Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island when Baby Mario fell down to the island after the Stork carrying the Mario brothers was attacked by Kamek. The island in this game didn't look like the Mario World, instead it looked like it's own island.
Yoshi's Story
In Yoshi's Story, Baby Bowser took over the island in an attempt to capture the Super Happy Tree. Bowser placed a spell over all the Yoshis, but six were unaffected, as they were unhatched and still in their eggs at the time the spell was cast. The six Yoshis must battle their way to Baby Bowser while eating fruit and regain their island by breaking the spell.
Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time
During Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time, Yoob and the Shroobs attacked the island. Mario, Luigi, Baby Mario and Baby Luigi save this island. The island here has Pidjits and other enemies.
