A Shuri from Donkey Kong 64, interestingly this Shuri possesses a unibrow.

Shuries are malevolent starfishes that prowl the waters of Donkey Kong Island and Crocodile Isle.

Shuries first appeared in Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest as semi-common enemies in the games various underwater levels. Shuries have two attack patterns, orange Shuries would wait for the kongs to approach and then charge at them spinning rapidly while the pink variety will spin through the water attack anything that gets close. Shuries could only be defeated by Enguarde the Swordfish.

Shuries also appeared in Donkey Kong Country 2's pseudo-sequel Donkey Kong Land 2, here their attack pattern was the same.

Shuries make another reappearence in Donkey Kong 64. Here they were rare enemies only encountered in a few of the games underwater areas, their attack pattern was also relatively the same as the orange variety. In this game Shuries cannot be defeated.

Shuries also appear in DK: King of Swing.

The name Shuri is possibly derived from the throwing weapon the shuriken, which incidentally resembles a star.
