Syrup Castle was the stronghold of the deviously dangerous pirate Captain Syrup and her minions. In Super Mario Land 3: Wario Land, Wario had to trek through Kitchen Island to get here and re-steal the giant golden Toadstool statue.
The castle sits atop a massive stone pillar, two levels make up the inside pillar, while the third level is the castle itself. As Wario progresses, the pillar blows apart showing the inner structure. The pillar and castle were built around the statue, but once the castle was destroyed the statue was exposed for the taking.
Wario Land 2
Syrup Castle reappeared in the sequel and just like before it was the last chapter to be cleared. Wario has chased the Black Sugar Pirates and their leader Syrup through several places of the land, until he finally learns that they reached their base safely. Wario then sets out to raid the castle, beat the pirates up and steal his treasure back. At the end he battles Captain Syrup in one of her various crafts.
The castle is once again seen in a brief cutscene after Wario obtained all of the game's Treasure, completed the Picture Panel and witnessed every ending sequence, when Wario sets out to steal Syrup's treasure.
