Clapper the Seal is a seal Animal Buddy found in the games Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest and Donkey Kong Land 2.
In both of the aforementioned games Clapper appears in only two levels: "Lava Lagoon" and "Clapper's Cavern". In "Lava Lagoon", Clapper appears throughout the level to aid Diddy and Dixie Kong by using his breath to cool down the boiling hot water in the level, thus making it safe to swim in.
In "Clapper's Cavern", Clapper once again uses his breath abilities to aid the Kongs. Here Clapper freezes the water in the level so the Kongs can walk on it, keeping them safe from the Snapjaw piranha below the surface of the water.
Aside from the various remakes of Donkey Kong Country 2, Clapper has yet to appear again.
Trivia
- In Donkey Kong 64 a seal nearly identical to Clapper, but dressed as a pirate and capable of talking, appears.
- Clapper is one of few of the Animal Buddies that tends to appear several times in a level.
