Thier name comes from the red coin that they always sport above thier heads. If Yoshi gets the coin from them, their behavior then reverts to that of normal Bandits.

| Oddly, the [[Bandit]]s found in the ''[[Paper Mario]]'' series have the same coloration as Coin Bandits (although they are a more normal, vibrant red and lack the purple gloves found on a Coin Bandit).
