Tiptup returned as a playable character in ''[[Diddy Kong Racing DS]]''. He sounds much younger in this game, and his promotional art depicts him with teeth. Despite popular belief, he is property of Rare and thus Microsoft. He was never property of Nintendo.

Tiptup is a fictional, clumsy turtle character who served as a playable racer in Diddy Kong Racing and its remake Diddy Kong Racing DS. As his creator, Rare, Ltd., retained usage rights of the character, the turtle has made several non-playable appearances throughout the Banjo-Kazooie series. These appearances reveal that after living on Timber's Timber's island, he moved to Banjo's world where he went on to conduct a turtle chorus and later raise a large family. Tiptup has a high top speed and good acceleration, but very poor control.
