Ice-Slide Expressway, or Frosted Glacier-5, is the fifth course of Frosted Glacier in New Super Luigi U. It is unlocked by completing Fire and Ice, and its own completion unlocks Peek-a-Boo Ghost House.

Layout[edit]

The level starts in a snowy area with ? Block containing either a Super Mushroom or a Penguin Suit, depending on the player's form, and a Warp Pipe. A Hidden Block that also contains a Penguin Suit can be used to reach the pipe. The pipe leads to an underground area with icy rotating platforms, which make the player go faster. Buzzy Beetles and some icicles are encountered as the player goes down a slope. Two Piranha Plants are found in Warp Pipes, followed by a Blue Ring. More Piranha Plants and icicles are found, along with a ? Block and three Buzzy Beetles. A Red Ring is found, along with a row of coins. Some groups of Brick Blocks are found, along with a slope. The player must slide across water, where Piranha Plants and floating ice platforms are found. Two Warp Pipes are found at the end of the area, one of which is blocked by Brick Blocks. Both pipes lead to an area outside with the Goal Pole in sight, with a row of coins found after the Warp Pipe behind the Brick Blocks.

Shortcut[edit]

At the beginning of the level, just before the pipe, the player can use a P-Acorn to fly or float to reach a platform above the area. The player can continue to the right, where a group of coins is found. There are two Hidden Blocks containing 1-Up Mushrooms. At the end of the section, the area with the Goal Pole is found, and the platform with the third Star Coin can be reached.
