Urchin Reef Romp, or Sparkling Waters-2, is the second course of Sparkling Waters in New Super Luigi U. It is unlocked by completing Huckit Beach Resort, and its own completion will unlock Shish-Kebab Tower.
Layout[edit]
The level begins in an area with a Warp Pipe. Entering the Warp Pipe leads the player underwater, where they encounter three Big Urchins and a current that can pull Luigi into a pit. A ? Block is found above them. A pathway with six Big Eep Cheeps and Urchins moving up and down is traveled through. A Big Urchin is encountered, along with a ? Block containing either a Super Mushroom or a Fire Flower, depending on the player's form. A large group of Big Eep Cheeps is found, along with a P Switch. A line of Big Urchins is discovered, along with a Warp Pipe. The Warp Pipe takes Luigi to an area with platforms above Big Urchins, along with the Goal Pole.
At the beginning of the level, a portion of the wall can be reached from the platform with the first Star Coin near it. A section of coins is found, and it leads to the Goal Pole, skipping the underwater section of the level.
Star Coins[edit]
- Star Coin 1: The first Star Coin can be found before entering the pipe, at the start of the level in a false wall next to the pipe.
- Star Coin 2: The second Star Coin can be found underneath a Big Urchin, but Luigi must be careful not to be sucked in by the current.
- Star Coin 3: The Fire Flower or Ice Flower is needed to get to the third Star Coin, as Urchins block the path to it. Similarly to the second Star Coin, the current is a hazard.
Luigi Sighting[edit]
- A jumping 8-bit Luigi can be seen after collecting the third Star Coin.
