The Sea Devil is a strange jar-like creature appearing only in Yoshi's Safari. It lives underwater and is the source of Tako. During Bowser's invasion of Jewelry Land, the Sea Devil serves as a mini-boss in his forces. Mario and Yoshi encounter the Sea Devil underwater in the Crescent Coast of the Light Realm. The Sea Devil launches wave after wave of Tako at Mario and Yoshi. Using the Super Scope, the player can blast the Tako right as they emerge from the Sea Devil, eliminating them. The player can also shoot the Sea Devil itself. After sustaining gunfire, the Sea Devil is defeated, leaving behind foamy bubbles. This is the only mini-boss that is not fought twice in the entire game.
