Darkle Boss: Purrjector Cat is a boss stage in Princess Peach: Showtime! It is found on 3F and is unlocked after clearing all of the other shows on the floor. This stage is a boss battle against Purrjector Cat. To unlock the dark door leading to the boss, Princess Peach must give Stella twenty Sparkle Gems.
Layout
Upon entering the stage, there is a cutscene where Princess Peach and Stella look around, with Purrjector Cat leaping in and out behind them. The two characters then turn around, which causes Purrjector Cat to reveal itself to the two. The battle then begins.
The battle takes place in a cartoony living room set with two mouse holes. The Purrjector Cat is peering from behind the top of the set. Before the boss attacks, a yellow mouse will emerge from one of the mouse holes. Upon using Sparkle Power on it, it will transform into a bomb. Purrjector Cat attacks by swiping with one of its paws from one side to the other. If it hits the bomb, it will be launched to the other side of the set. Princess Peach can repel the paws if she uses Sparkle Power before they attack. After one paw attack, Purrjector Cat uses Darkle power to make the set darker before projecting two large shadowy paws that slam the ground at the same time. These shadowy paws do not hurt Princess Peach directly, but when they slam the ground Peach will take damage if she is not in the air. This slam also launches any bombs into the air. If they land on the ground, they will explode and another mouse will appear, resetting the process. If the bomb is in the center, it will be launched towards Purrjector Cat, dismantling it and revealing its Darkle energy for Princess Peach to attack by using Sparkle Power. After attacking the Darkle energy, Purrjector Cat reassembles itself and phase two begins.
In phase two, Purrjector Cat does more attacks before summoning shadowy paws. It can now use its tail as well, swiping from one of the mouse holes that can be avoided by jumping over it or getting far away. Purrjector Cat can also attack with multiple paws at once and use its paws to slam downwards from above. After attacking the Darkle energy again, the boss will move on to its third phase.
In phase three, Purrjector Cat does even more attacks before summoning shadowy paws. It can also now attack with its tail and paws at the same time. After attacking the Darkle energy once more, Purrjector Cat will be defeated and the stage is clear.
After clearing the stage, the threads blocking 4F disappear, allowing access to the floor. The Cowgirl Rehearsal also becomes available on 3F.
Post-game challenges
1. Avoid being hit by the cat's paws or tail.
2. Defeat Purrjector Cat using only three mice.
3. Win the fight without taking damage.
