The PLAY WILD! Challenge was an event taking place in February and March 2024 in Japanese cities.[1] The event was a competition promoting Super Nintendo World and the then-upcoming Donkey Kong Country expansion at Universal Studios Japan in Osaka.[1]

The event took place on a stage; the left side was based on the Super Mario-themed Super Mario Land area, while the right side was based on the Donkey Kong-themed Donkey Kong Country area. Two giant inflatable balloons of Mario and Donkey Kong were present on both sides of the stage.[2] Participants had to fill out a form on Universal Studios Japan's website until January 24, 2024 to enter the competition.[1] The event's opening ceremony featured Japanese YouTuber Hikakin and actress Suzu Yamanouchi as guests.[2]
