Upon its defeat, it will break into pieces and disappear along with the thorns reverting the castle to revert to its normal state. Peach automatically obtains the Sparkle Gem and the stage is completed.

The Yami no Kyodai Ibara is the first boss that appears in Princess Peach: Showtime!, being fought in the level The Castle of Thorns. Its appearance is reminiscent of a rose with thorns but with purple petals with spikes on the outside.

In the Castle of Thorns, the Yami no Kyodai Ibara is responsible for summoning the brambles in the castle and the town, and holding the Theet king captive in his castle. Its thorns are intangible to Princess Peach's Sparkle, but can be destroyed by Swordfighter Peach's rapier. Its battle takes place in a circular arena. During battle, while it summons thorn attacks, Peach must damage its three-dimensional thorns with her rapier. This will result the plant to hit its head to the ground, sending a wave shaped like a circle where Peach must dodge and stomp the thorn plant, then repeatedly attack consecutively until it is defeated. If it recovers, Peach can repeat the process to leave the Yami no Kyodai Ibara vulnerable to her attacks. Upon its defeat, it will break into pieces and disappear along with the thorns reverting the castle to revert to its normal state. Peach automatically obtains the Sparkle Gem and the stage is completed.
