After her transformation, the Sparkle platform lifts Cowgirl Peach to where the Sour Bunch minions and Cowboy held the Theets captive.

Cowgirl in the Wilderness is a stage in Princess Peach: Showtime!, located on the upper right in the first floor of the Sparkle Theater. To unlock this stage, The Castle of Thorns must be completed. It is the first stage where the Cowgirl transformation is introduced.

Layout[edit]

The stage begins with Princess Peach and Stella arriving at a town, who witnessed the Sour Bunch minions rob the town's treasure. With the main gate locked, Peach must then rescue two Theets imprisoned in crates, which then try to open the gate to no avail. After Peach uses Sparkle on them, they gain the strength to open the gate bare-handed, leading Peach into the next section.

Cowgirl Peach's introduction

Following the two Theets in the next section, Peach and Stella will witness the Sour Bunch blocking the entrance to the Wild Star bar. If Peach chooses to head east to the dead end of the section, the Theets on the second floor of a building indicating the entrance Peach can enter. Peach can go to the entrance by jumping on top of the caravan to jump to the second floor of the first building. She can choose the save the Theet holding a balloon with the Sparkle. Proceeding jumping to the second floor of the building, Peach and Stella will witness the Sour Bunch and Yami no Big Boss who laugh at the trapped Theets in the barrels. Heading right of the second floor of the third building (where the Theets indicated that Peach can enter), there is a Sour Bunch cowpoke holding the pistol towards two Theets, Peach can defeat it by using the ribbon, opening the entrance to the basement. Entering the door, the two Theets help Peach find the entrance to where the captured Theets are. However, they cannot find the entrance with the dull lamps; Peach can light the lamps and the entrance is visible. The Cowgirl's Sparkle is behind the barrel shelves that the Theets cannot move. With the help of Peach's Sparkle, they can move the barrel shelves and Peach can access the Sparkle, transforming into Cowgirl Peach. After her transformation, the Sparkle platform lifts Cowgirl Peach to where the Sour Bunch minions and Yami no Big Boss held the Theets captive.

Showing up to the bar, Yami no Big Boss sets the arena where Cowgirl Peach must use the lasso to grab the barrels and attack the thieves. When opportunity arises, Cowgirl Peach must grab the barrel with the Theets and throw them either at the Sour Bunch thief or to another barrel to break, freeing the Theet from the barrel. After saving the Theets, Yami no Big Boss and the Sour Bunch leave with the loot with six thieves left behind; Peach must defeat the remaining thieves. Exiting the bar, the Sour Bunch cowpokes leave and the white horse in the caravan show up. Peach can ride on the horse and chase the Sour Bunch and reclaim the loot with their lasso.

In the town section, Peach must avoid obstacles like the cacti and caravans, and will eventually catch up to the Sour Bunch, leading to the next area. In the desert section, a cowpoke will form broken holes in the bridge with a pistol, Peach must control the horse to jump over the holes. There is a pile of boulders that fall off and block Peach's path. There are two bridge sections that Peach can choose: the furthest bridge where the horse is carrying a Sparkle Gem and another cowpoke continuously firing holes on the bridge. Eventually, Cowgirl Peach catches up with Yami no Big Boss and dismounts him. He is sent flying but lands safely to the ground and enters the cave.

Proceeding to enter the cave, the boss battle with Yami no Big Boss begins. Yami no Big Boss uses his pistol to shoot purple spherical bullets and one of them is a barrel which Cowgirl Peach must grab with her lasso and throw at Yami no Big Boss. The barrel throw at Yami no Big Boss puts him at a stunned state, Peach can take use of this opportunity to lasso Yami no Big Boss which smashes one of the three fences. After losing one life, he will attempt ramming into Cowgirl like a bull which she must evade. He will shoot two bullets rapidly instead of one. After losing two lives, he will rapidly fire three bullets. Upon his defeat, he will faint and disappear. A Sparkle Gem is rewarded at the end of the level and the level is completed.
