"Fishing Frenzy" is a playable song in Dance Dance Revolution: Mario Mix. It is an arrangement of "Csikós Post" by Hermann Necke. "Csikós Post" previously appeared in the series as the Versus Type C theme in the Family Computer/NES and Game Boy versions of Yoshi's Cookie as well as the Action Type B theme in the Super Famicom/SNES version of Yoshi's Cookie, and it would later be a selectable song for Rhythmic Ribbon in the Wii version of Mario & Sonic at the London 2012 Olympic Games.
In the background of the song, Mario and/or Luigi is/are on a small island, fishing for Cheep Cheeps and dancing. Behind him/them is a Bob-omb-shaped shop decorated with an eyepatch and two large sabers. A symbol depicting a Bob-omb's head with crossed bones behind it adorns the shop's eyepatch, its door, and the sail of the pirate ship moored nearby.
This song's only hazard in Mush Mode is Cheep Cheeps, which do not begin in the column in which the player must step on them, but instead swim diagonally until just before they reach the note indicators.
In regular Story Mode, this song serves as stage 2-2, Pirate Island. However, in Story Mode EX, it is replaced by "Pirate Dance." After the SS Brass proves unable to go through a whirlpool, the player character and Toad head for a shop on a nearby island, with a pirate Lakitu as the proprietor. This Lakitu shows them his Boogie Booster, but he refuses to sell it to them unless he is beaten in a fishing contest. This is played as a dance-off wherein the pirate Lakitu behaves like a playable character despite not being selectable in this or any other mode.
