A pickaxe appears in Super Mario Party as a special item in King Bob-omb's Powderkeg Mine. In Mario Party, a pickaxe can be used by the player on a "Gold-Mine Gamble" Event Space to mine for coins up to three times, since the pickaxe has a chance of breaking after each use, also causing the player to lose any coins they would have received in the event. In Partner Party, a pickaxe can be used on a "Dig for Gold!" Event Space for the same purpose, though on a "Golden Opportunity" Event Space, a pickaxe can mine for a Star or rarely two of them.
