Not only are you still doing this, you're also still changing subject names to their standard article title names, when they should use the name the game used at the time, e.g. "Checkpoint Flag" which should be "midway point" on NSMBW-related articles, because that's the name the game used for them (check the subject article to see the names used in each appearance). Generally, if an article was deliberately linked with its display name changed to match the context, leave them alone. 08:32, September 22, 2023 (EDT) | |||

Hello, there! If you want to add images to MarioWiki, please upload them first through Special:Upload. Make sure you follow the instructions there and don't be afraid to ask if you need help on this. Thank you! It's me, Mario! (Talk / Stalk) 21:54, April 7, 2023 (EDT)
When uploading, please make sure to replace "uncategorized" with an image category link, e.g.
for images from this game (with square brackets, not curly). Also, any lines you're not using from the "aboutfile" summary, like "Other versions", don't need to be filled in and can just be removed entirely. Mario JC 10:02, April 8, 2023 (EDT)
Recall what I said here; category links should be "images" categories (categories like "Mario forms" are for articles only) and in square brackets without the curly brackets. Mario JC 09:28, June 22, 2023 (EDT)
This tells me nothing about why Water shouldn't be tagged

Previewing edits[edit]
Hello, MisterMarioYT. When editing, if you'd like to see how your edits affect a page, use the "Show preview" button next to the "Save changes" button. This allows you to check over your edits for any errors and make any additional changes or fixes before you save, which will prevent edits from flooding the page history and recent changes. (If you are on mobile, make sure to check the preview page thoroughly before proceeding to save.) Please try to avoid making excessive, consecutive edits to a single page within a short timespan and instead limit them to as few as possible. |
Please preview edits before saving instead of making multiple edits like this trying to fix a mistake. Mario JC 22:42, April 15, 2023 (EDT)
Image categories[edit]
Hello, MisterMarioYT. Good job on your recent uploads, but when uploading files, keep in mind that you must correctly categorize the file. It's simple to learn how to do so. Just search for the correct category by starting with the following groups:
When uploading, copy the full title of the category and insert it in square brackets into the summary text box below the aboutfile template, replacing the uncategorized template entirely. If you're using the upload function from the text editor, simply add the category link to the description. For example, files related to the game Super Mario World would use: or Please consider the above information before uploading more files. Keep in mind that some files can belong to multiple categories. Do not put images into the media files category, or vice versa. If you continue uploading files without categorizing them correctly, then a warning will be issued. Thank you for reading, and keep contributing. |
As I said above, image categories only use "(game) images" categories. Categories like "(game) forms", "objects", "enemies" are for the form, object, and enemy articles only (e.g. Super Mario (form), ? Block, Goomba), not for files. Mario JC 01:33, June 24, 2023 (EDT)
Also, please don't add one image at a time to an article as you're uploading. It's better to upload in batches, then add them all to the article in a single or few large edit(s) so the page history isn't flooded with edits. Mario JC 01:36, June 24, 2023 (EDT)
Don't forget to add "Category:" to the category link (e.g. ) - RHG1951 (talk) 21:15, June 24, 2023 (EDT)
"(game) media files" are for audio and video files, not image files. Mario JC 23:17, June 28, 2023 (EDT)
Names[edit]
Don't capitalise parts of names that aren't proper nouns (like "water tide" to "Water Tide"), or change official names used in the game/film to the standard names (Brick Blocks and Spinies are called Bricks in NSMB and Spiny Shells in the movie, so they shouldn't be changed). Also, there's no need to link to the same character in every row they are mentioned of the table. Mario JC 00:10, June 25, 2023 (EDT)
When I was referring to "Bricks", I meant NSMB specifically; that doesn't mean every other article should use "Bricks", because names vary between games and media. The game/film article should use the object name that the game/film gave it, and if it didn't, just use the standard name (which is "Brick Block"). And when I said not capitalising non-proper nouns, I meant generic terms that aren't established as actual names. "? Block" is a unique name given to the object and is therefore a proper noun and should stay capitalised. Also, read my italics reminder below, and don't link to Water; this is a different kind of "water" (an item from Paper Mario) and isn't a relevant link for the movie. Mario JC 10:40, June 28, 2023 (EDT)
Stop reverting the link; I've already explained just above why the link is irrelevant. The current link is for the Paper Mario item, and it doesn't matter if it's the only one not linked. If you continue re-adding the link, a warning will be issued. Mario JC 11:29, June 28, 2023 (EDT)
Please stop capitalising non-proper nouns in conjectural names on the Super Mario Wiki. This isn't a warning, and it's possible that you made a mistake by accident or without realizing it; this is simply a reminder for your information. If the action continues, then a warning will be issued. Thanks for reading and keep contributing. If you feel this reminder was undeserved, you may appeal it. |
Italics[edit]
Hello, MisterMarioYT! Thanks for your contributions. When writing titles for media like games, films, TV shows, and publications, please remember to italicize them. This is done by placing two straight apostrophes (not quotation marks or curly apostrophes) on both sides of the title, or clicking on the I icon above the text box and typing out the title. For example, typing out Super Mario Bros. generates Super Mario Bros.
If you are using a device that uses curly ("smart") punctuation, you may need to disable this function in your device's settings to be able to type out the correct apostrophes. |

Reuploading[edit]
Also, if you're uploading a new version of an existing image that's the same format, click on the "Upload a new version of this file" on the existing file page instead of uploading separately. Mario JC 10:36, June 28, 2023 (EDT)
Image category links[edit]

New stubs[edit]
One or more pages that you have recently created have been deleted or marked as a stub article (Dragoneel Slayers). Please consider the following ideas and suggestions when expanding/creating an article:
