Daiya Yoshi is an original transformation that Yoshi takes in chapter 15 of Super Mario-kun Volume 11.
Not able to defeat Goro with bombs, Wanda suggests destroying the nearby monsters, collect the Diamonds they will drop and use those against Goro. Luigi defeats the monsters and some Diamonds appear, but Yoshi eats it, turning in Daiya Yoshi, much to Birdo's delight. While Wario laughs at this luck, Mario grabs Yoshi and puts him in Birdo's snout and, using her as a bazooka, shoots Yoshi at Goro, destroying it. While Wario flees in defeat, Yoshi (who turned back to normal) gets up with a giant bump on his head and his teeth shattered.
