Famitsu (formerly Famicom Tsūshin) is a company that has made video game magazines and guidebooks exclusively in Japan. The name Famitsu is a portmanteau abbreviation of Famicom Tsūshin; the word "Famicom" itself comes from a portmanteau abbreviation of "Family Computer, the most popular console console in Japan when the magazine was first published in the 1980s. Famitsu had made a magazines and guidebooks on many games in the Super Mario (franchise)uper Mario'' franchise.
