Blade-Face is an enemy found in the game Virtual Boy Wario Land, released for the Virtual Boy. They are a ghost-like creature who can be seen floating around the indoor areas of the tenth level. Blade-Faces have a bulky, striped body with two blades protruding from their sides, a set of teeth with a jaw and a cap-like object upon its head. Two eyes are surrounded by a large nose and a set of eyebrows. Though the Virtual Boy is only able to display images in monochrome black and red, the artwork shows that the creature has a green body. When the game’s protagonist Wario nears an area where a Blade-Face inhabits, the creature will emerge from where it resides in the background and will begin to trace a circling path through the air, aiming to harm Wario with its blades on either side of its body. It will gradually move across the screen during its circling path if Wario is not within immediate range. Wario is able to defeat these enemies by performing a jump to the Blade-Face’s vulnerable head, causing the creature to fly out of sight off the screen. If Wario, however, bumps against the Blade-Face’s unprotected jaw during its flight, it will not immediately be defeated. Instead, the creature will fall motionless to the ground, with its eyes open and the blades unchanged. Wario is simply able to jump upon the creatures head to defeat it, but if left alone, it will withdraw its blades and teleport itself to the background from where it originated. It will quickly respawn and begin to fly around again as normal. Attacking a Blade-Face with the flames of King Dragon and Sea Dragon Wario will have very little effect, as Blade-Face will disappear into the background and respawn a few seconds later.

Blade-Face[1] is an enemy in Virtual Boy Wario Land. They are encountered throughout Stage 10 only, where they emerge from the background as Wario approaches. Blade-Faces float through the air, tracing a circular path and aiming to harm Wario with its blades on either side of its body. A Blade-Face can be defeated if jumped on, causing it to fly offscreen. If Wario instead bumps its unprotected jaw during its flight, the Blade-Face will fall to the ground, temporarily stunned. Attacking a Blade-Face with the flames of King Dragon and Sea Dragon Wario causes the Blade-Face to disappear into the background, and returning a short time later. It will also temporarily disappear if it hits any blocks while moving through the air.
