World 2-4 is the eight and last of the eight available stages in "VS Game" and "You VS Boo" in Super Mario Bros. Deluxe. The level bears practically no resemblance to its Super Mario Bros. namesake level.

Layout

The level starts out with one small gap, followed by large rectangular clusters of Spike Traps that are handled by 3-2-1 Blocks. This is followed by an upwards chicane, leading into long sections with blocks of various types spread around, including gaps that are very hard to pass through except by jumping entirely above them or in some cases by being Small Mario.

A long tunnel straight afterwards leads into a section where most of the floors and blocks are Spike Traps, except for a few 3-2-1 Blocks. As there are no 3-2-1 Blocks immediately above the 3-2-1 Blocks that the players can stand on, this will often require some waiting before running further, although jumping directly between stone block waiting platforms or taking damage to use invincibility frames is also possible.

This leads soon afterwards into getting across two trench gaps that have Spike Traps between them, and then the Bowser boss fight, which has partially open roofing but with one Spike Trap at a certain point. Making their way past him and touching the axe will win the level. There are no victory cutscenes and the level cuts immediately to the result screen.

"VS Boo" times

  • Defeat White Boo: Reach the Axe before the timer hits 100.
  • Defeat Green Boo: Reach the Axe before the timer hits 144.
  • Defeat Red Boo: Reach the Axe before the timer hits 151.
