Switching Gears from WarioWare: Move It!

Switching Gears is a game mode in WarioWare: Move It!. It is a two-player mode hosted by Kat & Ana that involves a player playing microgames while another tries to keep the screen open.

Gameplay

Players alternate between playing microgames and operating the contraption. The contraption is operated in one of three methods:

  • Assuming the Choo Choo form and pumping the hands up and down alternately
  • Assuming the Sky Stretch form and pumping the hands up and down alternately
  • Assuming the Massage form and pumping the hands up and down simultaneously

The player operating the contraption is shown a brief animation of the contraption before each method change. After every third round, the contraption method changes; after every sixth round, the players change roles. Gameplay starts at level 1, increases to level 2 after 12 rounds, then to level 3 after 24 rounds. From round 36 onwards, the speed constantly increases. The game ends when all four lives are lost.
