First appearance | Mario Party 3 (2000) |
Belltop, whose name is a pun on the hotel porter profession "bellhop", is a magical bell who bears the semblance of a wind-up Toad in Mario Party 3. He was brought to life by the faux Millennium Star's magic. He inhabits all of the Duel Boards and doles out coins to the players skilled enough to deserve them. Whenever a player passes Belltop, it will start counting down from five to zero. Every time the players passes it, the numbers will decrease to a lower number. Once Belltop's hat reaches zero, it will bang its head with drum sticks and blow the whistle to signify the beginning of a duel mini-game. Once the duel mini-game is complete, its head will return to five. He always carries a whistle in his mouth and blows it to stir up attentiveness.
