In the level Fiery Cavern, it is shown that they are related to Bowlers, since the latter creatures will become Yetis when Wario jumps on the switch and the temperature radically changes.

Yetis[1][2] are enemies in Wario Land 4. They are pudgy ape-like creatures with white fur and runny noses. A Yeti moves back and forth until Wario comes near, then it stops and sneeze a horizontally traveling icy breath at Wario, turning him into Frozen Wario on contact. Yetis can be defeated by any of Wario's attacks and can be grabbed and thrown as well when they are stunned; however, Wario moves slower while carrying a Yeti. Unlike other enemies that cause a special status, a defeated Yeti does not respawn when Wario re-enters a room. Yetis are relatives of Bowlers, as revealed in the Fiery Cavern, where activating the switch radically changes the temperature and turns all of them into Yetis.
