First appearance | Super Mario Land (1989) |
Switches[1] are objects appearing in Super Mario Land. They appear behind most bosses as an alternative way to defeat them. Rather than attack a boss directly, Mario may choose to simply evade the boss and use the switch just behind it to defeat it instead. Switches appear in World 1-3, World 2-3, and World 3-3. Occasionally, Mario must clear a path to the switch before he is able to activate it.
