Luigi collecting Mario's Star in the game Luigi's Mansion.
Luigi collecting Mario's Star

Mario's Star is one of Mario's items that Luigi finds in Luigi's Mansion. It is found in the Observatory of the mansion, in Area 3. It is accessible after the moon is shot with a Shining Ghost. This causes a path to appear, leading to the remaining half of the moon and Mario's Star. This possession as well as Mario's Glove, Mario's Hat, Mario's Letter, and Mario's Shoe are scattered around the mansion. Unlike with the other items, collecting this one causes the same sound effect from Super Mario 64 when the player collects a Power Star to play. If Luigi takes them to Madame Clairvoya, she uses her crystal ball to "communicate" with Mario.

When Luigi gives Mario's Star to Madame Clairvoya, she says, "Wh-what is this? If it isn't Mario's Star! What otherworldly beauty!"

Mario's Star is the only Mario possession in the game whose location is not changed in the 3DS Hidden Mansion.
