The Cat Mario Show is a video series available via the Nintendo 3DS and Wii U Nintendo eShop produced and published by Nintendo. It is aimed to educate and entertain younger players.[1] The show is hosted by hand-puppets of Cat Mario and Cat Peach, who present each episode with facts, strategy tips, quizzes, and other content relating to games for the Wii U and Nintendo 3DS, as well as the Nintendo Switch in later episodes.
The series was released in Japan on February 26, 2014, in Europe on July 17, 2014, and in North America on December 18, 2014. In 2016, levels created by the actor and actress for Cat Mario and Cat Peach appear as event courses in Super Mario Maker. Completing them unlocks Cat Mario and Cat Peach costumes.
List of puppets
- Cat Mario is one of the hosts in this show. This show reveals his several personal lives, and will sometimes take the role of a boke performer in Japanese cont, which is reflected in a performer's tendency for misinterpretation and forgetfulness (e.g., for Cat Mario's case, he misinterprets the word "girly" as "gari," a type of pickled ginger in the Japanese cuisine). Every year he heads to Los Angeles, USA, to report the information by Nintendo in Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3), but he also forgets about souvenirs for Cat Peach every time.
- Cat Peach is the other host of the show. One of this show's running gags is whenever something particularly amazing or surprising happens, she often says, "Unbelievable!" Sometimes she will take a role like a tsukkomi performer in Japanese cont, which is reflected in generally rail at the boke for their mistakes and exaggerations, as opposed to be Cat Mario's boke.
- Starting with episode 20, Captain Toad sometimes appears as an assistant for Cat Mario and Cat Peach. Unlike the other puppets, he does not talk in full sentences.
- This show sometimes gets "interrupted" by Bowser. Bowser will be talking about the enemies and traps from certain games, or something that would beat Mario in certain games like Super Mario Maker, but then getting failed by an accident or unexpected effects/gimmicks. He also "interrupts" the show for advertising something related to Bowser in certain games. For example, in episode 13, Bowser shows a T-shirt of himself in the original Super Mario Bros. for Animal Crossing: New Leaf, and in episode 14, he makes a presentation about Mario Party 10, showing clips of the Bowser Party mode as a highlight.
- In some episodes with The Legend of Zelda series-related segments, Link appears as a host, in his design from The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker. In this show, he speaks with the verbal tic "deyaa," like Cat Mario and Peach speak with "nya."

Trivia
- The Mario Drawing Song is often played in the Japanese version while presenting random drawings or contests winners of Pokémon Art Academy and The Legend of Zelda: Tri Force Heroes contests and Miiverse pictures. This is replaced by the Training music from Super Smash Bros. Ultimate when presenting the winners of picture contests of that game.
- The series reveals more traits about Mario, such as the fact that his drawing skills are terrible and that Mario's favorite Disney character is Olaf from the 2013 animated film Frozen.
- There are several countries in which the show airs but is not dubbed into the country's official language; rather, they simply add subtitles. Some examples include the Russian and Portuguese versions.
