Minor NPCs are non-playable characters that have little or no effect on a game's story or gameplay. While the majority of minor NPCs are found in the Paper Mario series, some are found in other RPG and platformer games. While the Super Mario Wiki encourages making articles on officially named minor NPCs, the wiki discourages making conjecturally named minor NPC articles. Information related to these minor NPCs can be incorporated into a place or species article instead. However, if a minor NPC can be shown to have importance to the game or story, then the character warrants a conjectural name determined by the wiki and its own article.
