Although it does not return in later Super Smash Bros. games, a second version of the stage called 2 appears in Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.
PictoChat is divided into 4 "chatrooms" marked "A", "B", "C", and "D", respectively. The maximum capacity for these chatrooms is 16. Upon entering a chatroom, users are presented with some very simple formatting options for drawing. The only available pen color is black, though on Nintendo DSi, the user can change to a rainbow pen by tapping on the pen icon while having selected it (the rainbow is also visible on regular DS systems). The interface also contains a keyboard, which is able to produce a variety of text and symbols. The main feature of PictoChat is the ability to create simple drawings and post them onto the chatboard.
