A Hot Foot is a flame residing in a candle. It appears inside fortresses in Super Mario Bros. 3. When Mario turns his back to a Hot Foot, it will sprout small legs and start walking toward the plumber. Should Mario turn and face the Hot Foot again, the enemy will stop in its tracks. For this reason, they are often compared to Boos, which behave almost the same, albeit floating in the air. The only way to defeat a Hot Foot is with a Starman or Hammer from the Hammer Suit.
