Template:Minigame-infobox Alpine Assault is a 4-Player minigame in Mario Party 8, as well as a single-player minigame in Test for the Best.

Introduction

Beside an audience of cheering Goombas, the four players are on snowboards, behind the gate, ready to go.

Gameplay

The objective is to get down the hill first. The player controls themselves by turning the Wii Remote. On ramps, if the player presses A Button or B Button and turns, they get a boost of speed when they land. There are obstacles along the way, such as Mr. Blizzards, that can get in the way while the player goes down. The player who crosses the finish line first wins. If all four players cross the finish line at the same time or if five minutes pass, the minigame ends in a tie.

Ending

All four players are at the bottom, the winner standing slightly in front of the others, with their boards standing in the snow. The victor does the victory dance. If the minigame ends in a tie, the players will be lined up by player order. The characters face the screen and perform their losing animations as "Tie" appears on the screen.

Test for the Best
