The Rainbow Star is a star that appears in Super Mario Galaxy. Much like regular stars, this star causes Mario to turn invincible. When Mario uses the star, he becomes a rainbow color and leaves a trail of light behind him whenever he runs. If Mario keep on running and doesn't stop he'll get star bits. If he stops he won't get any. If he keeps running, he will as well spread his arms out like when Mario doesn't stop running in Super Mario Bros. 3 and have larger jumps. As it wears off, the music, and Mario's running will get faster and faster, until it ends.
