I started a new file and intentionally got a Bronze star. A bronze star in absolutely the same as a power star and it adds towards your star count. The only difference is.....well that it is bronze and doesn't shine as brightly as a Power Star. Hope that answers your question. User:MarioMaster720

Well, I only need 3 more power stars (the chimp's score challenge, purple coins on the rainbow road (whatever it's called), and throwback throwdown speed run. Will bronze stars help me get green ones?

They do but you can't unlock Grandmaster Galaxy until you get the normal Power Stars. --Yoshidude99  12:35, 4 March 2011 (EST)

Question: Is the bronze star just the power star with a different look, or does it prevent you from unlocking some things of the game? When you get a bronze star, does it show in the history, or does it register as a regular power star and add itself to the total amount of power stars collected?

I've never gotten one before. Cwjakesteel 20:38, 31 May 2010 (EDT)
