* Creating user talk pages for the sole purpose of welcoming new users (through the {{tem|welcome}} template or otherwise) is prohibited.


The edit can be in any namespace. This rule exists to prevent from having thousands of user talk pages for users who are completely inactive on the wiki.  
That being said, you may welcome a new user if you're already creating their user talk page to get in touch with them for some other reason.

  • Creating user talk pages for the sole purpose of welcoming new users (through the {{welcome}} template or otherwise) is prohibited.

That being said, you may welcome a new user if you're already creating their user talk page to get in touch with them for some other reason.
