I was curious about the Thwomp locked behind bars near the beginning in the green light. Whats is with this? This seems strange, could it be that he has done something wrong? Learner 17:52, 13 March 2008 (EDT)

It is possibly a stage prop or hazard (although it is trapped in the bars). It may also be there to distract human racers. Mariofan459

It has no effect on the course, its probably just there to distract you.Possibly, if they bring it back in the next one(MarioKart3DS-Cant wait!), it might serve a purpose.-Smileymiley5001

Glitch in Mario Kart DS

I just played Mario Kart DS, and I noticed that when the course is played in VS Mode, the ranking shows that you're in 7th place even though you're in the 8th place position. Super Chris Helper

Water

Actually, the first Bowser's Castle to have water is in Mario Kart: Double Dash!!. In that one, the water is just outside of the castle, but serves as a hazard. Music

I'm not good at hearing similarities in music to another, so I was just wondering if the music for Bowser's Castle in Super Mario Kart is a remix of the final boss theme from Super Mario World? I mean, few people say that they sound very similar, along that one of them is literally a spinoff of the other, and many people call one a remix of the other, or that they're the same song.107.206.92.13 21:13, 15 November 2016 (EST)

The music is not considered a remix as it's a completely new arrangement of the theme. It's probably most likely a cover version (we use rearrangement rather than cover version because of how unwieldy that term is). Ray Trace^(T|C) 21:36, 15 November 2016 (EST)
