Barbara is the mascot of Daigasso! Band Brothers, the Japan-exclusive predecessor to Jam with the Band. She is the arrogant owner of the music shop of Waruwaru Town, GB Music, and helps the player throughout the game. She appears as an Assist Trophy in Super Smash Bros. Brawl. When she appears, Barbara strums her guitar for a few seconds, releasing sound waves that moderately damages opponents and knocks them back. Her last sound wave is larger and stronger than the other ones.
Barbara later appears in Super Mario Maker as an add-on Mystery Mushroom costume for Costume Mario. It can be unlocked by clearing the Barbara in Tomatoland Event Course, which was released on February 25, 2016.
Barbara appears in a web comic strip posted on April 01 2016 on Nintendo's Japanese kids website[1]. In the strip, Ashley attempts to sing on a live stage, but she struggle due to her shyness. Barbara gives Ashley tips to overcome her stage fright, but soon after this, the witch falls asleep on stage, to Barbara's dismay.
