King K. Rool steals the Banana Hoard for unknown reasons in Donkey Kong Country. Donkey and Diddy Kong make it their mission to retrieve them one by one by battling each of K. Rool's bosses and, eventually succeeding.
Donkey Kong Land
To see if their adventures are also successful on the original 8-bit Game Boy, Cranky Kong arranges for the Kremlings to steal the Banana Hoard once again for Donkey Kong Land. Despite their black and white limitations, Donkey and Diddy Kong manage to defeat King K. Rool once again.

The Banana Hoard returns and makes its latest appearance in Donkey Kong Country Returns and Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D. Many Tikis hypnotize the animals of Donkey Kong Island to steal them (as they acted as resources to reproduce the Tiki tribe) and Donkey and Diddy Kong must retrieve it back and defeat Tiki Tong to fill their Banana Hoard once again.
