Bureaucrats are MarioWiki administrators with some additional user-management rights.
Aside from the normal responsibilities of Sysophood, Bureaucrats can rename users using the Special:RenameUser page. They also have the ability to promote and demote other users; this ability is periodically used on behalf of the administration as a whole to ensure that the Super Mario Wiki always has an ample number of active, capable Bureaucrats, Sysops and Patrollers.
