Santa Claus is said to be the one who gives presents to children on Christmas. He appears in some episodes of The Super Mario Bros. Super Show!.
In the live-action segment from "Star Koopa / Santa Claus is Coming to Flatbush", he goes to the Mario Brothers Plumbing house because his sled got stolen. In the cartoon segment of "Koopa Klaus / Little Marios", King Koopa kidnaps him, so Mario and the gang go save him.
In "Rock TV", an episode of the Super Mario World animated series, Mario remembers an outlandish phone bill he got back in Brooklyn from calling the "Speak to Santa Hotline", which seems to let users talk to Santa himself.
In Paper Mario, if Mario chooses to sleep in the Toad House in Shiver City, he will occasionally wake-up to find several Mushrooms and an Ultra Shroom in the Toad House; the Toad caretaker of the Toad House also implies that it may have been Santa Claus who left Mario these gifts.
