Black Yoshi

A Black Yoshi.

Black Yoshi is a Yoshi that appears in Yoshi's Story. He is an unlockable character that hasn't appeared in a lot of games. He and the White Yoshi are special, as they can eat things that other Yoshis cannot, like Peppers. One of these rare dinos can be found in level 2-1: Bone Dragon Pit.

Black Yoshis reappear in Yoshi's Island DS, playable in the Secret levels of each world.

In Mario Power Tennis, Yoshi can change colors every time he performs a Rolling Egg Return, provided the player has completed the Flower Cup with any character. One of the colors that Yoshi can turn is black.

Appearance

In Yoshi's Story, Black Yoshi debuted with black skin and white shoes with a red saddle. This design has gone unchanged.
