Template:Level Visit Koopa and Para-Koopa is the first level of World 2 in the game Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island and its remake, Super Mario Advance 3: Yoshi's Island. Besides a new scenery, the level introduces Poochy to the main levels, and several new enemies, such as Koopas, Paratroopas (named Para-Koopas in the game), and also introduces new obstacles, such as Falling Rocks. It's also the first level in which Baby Mario can turn into Superstar Mario. It also introduces Baron Von Zeppelins as harmful baddies, instead of the always-helpful Barons of World One.

Overview

As the level commences, the player will notice a nice new scenery set in a forest, with pine trees in the background and beautiful cyan-colored mountains. Yoshi should start by simply going left and jumping on the floating rocks. There will be a Koopa walking around. Yoshi can either eat it and spit it out, or jump on it twice. As Yoshi defeats it, he will immediately notice another Koopa. This time, the player should eat it and spit it out when he sees a Parakoopa flying around, defeating it. Nothing special pops up until the player finds a Pipe. Yoshi should access it.

In this new area, the first thing the player will notice is a bouncing star. Collecting it turns Baby Mario into Superstar Mario. With this, Baby Mario can run up walls and over ceilings. Upon collecting star, the player should dash all the way to the dotted blocks. Some of these contain stars, which aren't really necessary. If Baby Mario turns back to normal, the player should simply control Yoshi back to the Super Star. After the blocks, Yoshi will go through a Flipper Door and find an area full of coins. First of all, the player should grab the Super Star and run up the wall. It is completely optional whether the player grabs the coins or not, as there are no red coins in here. After that, the player should continue, pass over the blocks and obtain the first Special Flower located in the end. The player will be back at the beginning of the area. Yoshi should leave through the pipe now.

Once back in the main section of the level, the player should jump to the rock to the right, and from it, Flutter Jump to the big rocks to the left. Right next to the first rock is a particularly tall rock. Yoshi should jump on it and quickly jump up for the second Special Flower, as this rock will fall. The rock below has a walking Koopa on it. The player should jump on it once and then use its shell to throw it off to the right, hitting an ? Cloud and obtaining a 1-UP. Above this rock is a wider rock. The player should jump on it. Next to the right is a gap, and then yet another rock. This rock, though, is another Falling Rock. The player should either Flutter Jump, collect the coins coins floating above and avoid touching the rock; or simply jump on it and quickly collect the coins. Next to this falling rock is another tall rock. This one is safe, but the one next to it isn't. Now, the problem with this rock is that it's got coins above it... and below it. Yoshi should try to Flutter Jump and collect the two coins above, landing on the right side of the rock, and then quickly run as the block falls to obtain the two coins below. The trick is to then Flutter Jump to either the Falling Rock not touched by the player earlier, or to try to land on the tall rock. Another option is to land on the left side of the rock, collect the coins and quickly flutter jump to the rock to the right, avoiding the Parakoopa. After that, Yoshi will jump back to safe ground. The only thing here is a pipe, so of course, the player should take it.

Once in this new area, the player should drop off the wooden platform to find Poochy, who will run to Yoshi with an egg. The player should get this egg and hit the Egg Block for egg supplies. There's also a Help Block in here, so if the player has never ridden Poochy before, now's the chance to learn the how-to. Yoshi should hop on Poochy and let him run over the Tap-Taps here. He then pass some Spike Gaps. Once he's reached the third, he will jump into a tunnel. When he jumps, Yoshi should jump off his back and jump (or flutter jump) onto the ledge. Below is a box surrounded by some red coins. After collecting the red coins, Yoshi should Ground Pound the box for a key. After that, Yoshi should just take the ride back. Once he's back on the beginning, he should simply jump into the pipe with the red arrow on it to go back to the surface.

After emerging from the pipe, the player should immediately notice a Middle Ring to the right. The player should touch it for some stars and continue running to the right until he or she encounters a Spring Ball. Yoshi should use it to access the third area of the game.

In this new place, the screen will move by itself up. In a Tetris-like game, blocks will fall from the sky and perfectly match each other, leaving no spaces. Yoshi must climb up the rocks while avoiding being fluttered by any of them. There is a plethora of coins all over the "climb", but none of these are red coins, so it's optional whether the player decides to obtain them or not. Once all the rocks fall, the player should QUICKLY try to get the third Special Flower, as instants later, two more blocks will fall. Once they fall and Yoshi avoids them by jumping to the grass to the right, Yoshi should jump on them and go all the way to the left and jump to uncover a secret ? Cloud. This one contains 5 stars. Yoshi should continue right, jump from wooden platform to another and go through the Flipper. The player should drop off on the thin rock. It will begin falling. Yoshi should eat the four Fly Guys on the way down to obtain four red coins. If the player is unable to obtain all red coins, it is no subject to worry, as he or she can climb up again and try as many times as he or she wishes. Once that's clear, the player should use the small Spring Bounce to jump above. The big one takes the player back so he or she can try falling and collecting the red coins again, so the player should simply ignore it and continue right. There will be an Eggo-Dil between two poles here. Yoshi should simply Ground Pound somewhere nearby so it hides, and quickly jump over the poles and continue right.

Now there will some gap-jumping. There will be some Baron von Zeppelins either carrying boxes (which contain stars), Shy Guys or bombs. After jumping from one grass patch to another, the player will finally encounter a large land, with an Eggo-Dil on it. Yoshi should Ground again so it hides, and head right. Here will be some falling rocks again. The player should QUICKLY jump the large gaps and obtain the fourth Special Flower before the rocks make it impossible to reach. After that, the player should avoid the falling rocks and continue right until finding some pits. In the second one, the player should quickly jump to the grass patch to the right and then jump on the falling square rock. After that, the player should try to jump to the one falling above, and from there, quickly jump to where the last Special Flower is. In this area, there's also a secret ? Cloud, which contains more stars. After the player goes through the Flippers, he or she will encounter a path made entirely of falling rocks. The player must be skillful and quickly grab all the red coins in the way while avoiding death. After this, the player will finally reach the Finish. Before this, though, is the door in which the key, obtained almost in the beginning of the level, is used. Inside is a mini-game against a Bandit, which consists of popping balloons. Once Yoshi is out, he should touch the Finish Ring and pass Baby Mario to Pink Yoshi. And thus the visit to old friends Koopa and Para-Koopa ends.
