Gold Diamonds are found in two spots. For the first one, [[Luigi]] must water a plant three times in the [[Boneyard]] (where [[Spooky (character)|Spooky]] resides): once when he first sees it, once after defeating [[Bogmire]], and once after defeating [[Boolossus]] to make the now-flower bloom, revealing the diamond and several other treasures. The other can be found if Luigi captures all [[List of Boos in Luigi's Mansion|50 Boo]]s (not counting [[King Boo]]); the last Boo drops the Gold Diamond.
 
If Luigi captures the final Boo and saves, the Gold Diamond's location is saved as being on the ground. Therefore, if players do not save using a [[Toad (species)|Toad]] after obtaining the Gold Diamond, it is lost if the game is turned off or Luigi faints, since as the game is saved automatically after the final Boo is captured but before the Gold Diamond is obtained, the Gold Diamond disappears and cannot be obtained again.

Gold Diamonds,[1] also known as Big Yellow Jewels,[2] are items in Luigi's Mansion and its remake. They are significantly larger than Blue Diamonds and Red Diamonds. Each Gold Diamond is worth 20,000,000G, which is the highest value of any collectible in the game. One of the Gold Diamonds is obtained after watering a plant three times in the Boneyard, specifically if done before the battle with Bogmire, after the battle, and lastly after defeating Boolossus for the flower to bloom, revealing the diamond and several other treasures. The only other Gold Diamond is obtained after Luigi captures all 50 Boos. If Luigi captures the final Boo and saves, the Gold Diamond's location is saved as being on the ground, so if players do not save the game again, the Gold Diamond is lost permanently if either the game is turned off or if the player receives a Game Over.
