There are five Wonder Wools in each [[level]], all in a variety of different colors; there are 275 Wonder Wools total in the game. Wonder Wools are [[Yoshi (species)|Yoshi]]s that have been unwoven by [[Kamek]]'s magic; the Yoshis are made up of five Wonder Wools each. The color of the Yoshi determines the colors of the Wonder Wools it is made up of. If the player collects all five Wonder Wools in a level, a Yoshi pattern is unlocked. Unlike [[Smiley Flower]]s and [[bead]]s, Wonder Wools cannot be collected by throwing a [[yarn ball]] at them. However, a Yoshi can throw another Yoshi (or a [[Poochy Pup]] in the 3DS version's Mellow Mode) at a Wonder Wool to collect it.
