In this event, the player can switch between several sets of equipment, though always starts the event on skis. To start, the player must swing the Wii remote down when "Go!" appears on screen, and can charge up power for a faster start by holding {{button|wii|B}}. The player can perform a faster start by swinging the Wii Remote down with better timing, but will have a delayed start if the swing down too early. Once on the course, the player can steer by tilting the Wii Remote left and right, and speed up by tilting it forward, and turn while speeding up by twisting the remote in the desired direction, for all types of gear.
