The course has several differences compared to its appearance in ''Mario Kart 8 Deluxe''. The side passage following the shortcut has been completely blocked off, with the player only being able to go off a ramp back onto the main route. Additional ramps were also added to the sides of the conveyor belts when entering the space with the first fountain, instead of the drop-off being trickable. The handrails of the conveyor belts can no longer be tricked or driven on and the conveyor belts themselves move much slower. The top route and bottom routes when the player exits the mall have had their ramps flipped compared to ''Mario Kart 8 Deluxe'' on the normal variant of the course - the top route is now a normal ramp instead of a glide ramp, like in the original ''Mario Kart Wii'' version, and the bottom route has a glide ramp like in ''Mario Kart 7''. The courtyard has gray stone tiles instead of orange tiles. The ramp on the left side of the road upon exiting the mall has been made much wider. In addition, the cars have returned to their original size and behavior of moving forwards and backwards along the track. They are still occupied by Shy Guys, but can be ran over with the aid of a Mega Mushroom, a Star or a Frenzy. The course uses its original music from ''Mario Kart Wii''. Coconut Mall is the first course in ''Mario Kart Tour'' that did not have all of its variants debut together, but had them debut in tours with the same name. | ||
The course also appears as '''Coconut Mall R''' (reversed), '''Coconut Mall T''' (with ramps), and '''Coconut Mall R/T''' (reversed with ramps). The former two debuted alongside the regular version in the 2022 Doctor Tour, while the latter debuted in the [[Doctor Tour (2023)|2023 Doctor Tour]]. In all three variants, some conveyor belts either have their direction changed or are deactivated altogether. In the R variant, the cars retain all the properties seen in the ''Mario Kart 8 Deluxe'' version prior to version 2.1.0, including their larger size and stationary behavior. In the T variant, the Glide Ramp and the Dash Panel have their positions switched, and racers briefly drive along the beach. In the R/T variant, the cars are gone and there is instead a [[dash panel ramp truck]]. Additionally, there is a water geyser in both fountains. | The course also appears as '''Coconut Mall R''' (reversed), '''Coconut Mall T''' (with ramps), and '''Coconut Mall R/T''' (reversed with ramps).
