Whomp Stomp is a boss minigame in Mario Party 9.

Bowser Jr.'s Introduction
"Wah ha ha ha! Nice job making it this far!  But you won't get past the boss of this fort! Crush 'em, Whomp!"

Introduction
Introduction
The players land on their platforms and then turn to face another platform. Whomp drops down onto that platform and startles the player in front of him (the most common being the fourth player).
The players land on their platforms, and then turn to face another platform. Whomp drops down onto this platform and startles them.

Gameplay
Gameplay
Each player chooses whether or not to turn the platform (represented by 0 or 1). After the players have made their selections, each player who chose "1" steps forward and pulls a switch, and the platforms rotate once per switch pulled (indicated by the number displayed in the center). Whomp then falls onto the player in front of him, making them lose a point (unless that player has no points). The other players jump on Whomp's back and deliver as many ground pounds as they can, earning three points for each ground pound. After a set time, Whomp rises back up, the players resume their positions, and the process repeats.
Each player chooses 0 or 1 turns of the platforms. After the players have made their selection, each player who chose one will step forward and pull a switch, and the platforms will turn anti-clockwise that number of turns. Whomp will then fall down onto the player in front of him, and they will lose a point. The other players then jump onto Whomp's back and can ground-pound it, earning 3 points with each ground-pound. When Whomp is down to half of his HP he will get angry and stomp his foot. For the rest of the battle, he will stomp on the counter every round and add either one or two to it before the players have made their selections. When Whomp is defeated, he will explode and release Mini Stars.

When Whomp is down to half of his health, he gets angry and stomps his foot. For the rest of the battle, he stomps on the counter every round, adding either one or two rotations to it before the players have made their selections. As usual, the player who lands the final attack earns an additional three points, and the player with the most points wins the minigame.

Trivia
*This is one of three boss minigames in Mario Party 9 where at least one player character is bound to get hurt, the other two being Spike Strike and Chain Chomp Romp, since Whomp always attacks the character in front of him.
