Editing Wendy

In ''[[Super Mario Bros. 3]]'', the Koopalings are in charge of taking over the various kingdoms of the [[Mushroom World]]; Wendy decides to take over the kingdom of [[Water Land]]. Wendy steals the [[Magic Wand]] of Water Land's [[Kings|king]] and changes him into a [[Spike]]-esque {{iw|wikipedia|Kappa (folklore)|kappa}} or a [[Dino Rhino]], depending on the version of the game. Once Mario makes it through Water Land, he reaches Wendy's [[airship]]. Mario eventually makes his way into the spoiled Koopaling's cabin, where the two fight. Wendy attacks Mario by tackling him and shooting giant rings of candy at him (limited to three at a time). Each time Mario stomps on Wendy, she jumps higher around her room while still throwing her [[Ring (projectile)|candy ring]]s; However, Wendy is eventually defeated.

In battle, Wendy attacks using the same attack pattern as [[Lemmy]]: she pops-out of a random [[Warp Pipe]] with two [[Decoy (obstacle)|decoys]] popping-out of two other pipes. Mario needs to dodge two diagonal [[Lava Bubble]]s and jump on Wendy three times to defeat her. Afterwards, Mario erases her castle with a large mop. The narration after her defeat indicated that she loved to sing, at least until Mario put a stop to her. However, this was added in by the localizers, as the Japanese version simply had a uniform text congratulating the player for defeating a Koopaling without even stating their individual names.

Wendy is a boss in ''[[New Super Mario Bros. U]]'' and [[New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe|its Nintendo Switch port]]. She is fought in [[Frosted Glacier]]'s [[castle]], [[Wendy's Shifting Castle]] in ''New Super Mario Bros. U'' and in [[Wendy's Thwomp Castle]] in ''[[New Super Luigi U]]''. Wendy has her own [[airship]], like each of the other Koopalings', with her face on the front, but Wendy's ship additionally has skids on the bottom matching the ice skates she wears in battle. In her area, Wendy utters a gleeful taunt when confronted by the player character, and before battling, Wendy gets surprised, then spins around in her figure skates to get ready for battle. During her boss fight, Wendy skates around the [[ice]], shooting out two [[Ring (projectile)|energy ring]]s, and she can also spin jump from walls. When Wendy enters her shell after being stomped, the spinning sound begins after she moves around in her shell, whilst for other Koopalings it plays right after being stomped. After being stomped twice, Wendy will shoot out three rings instead. Like with the other Koopalings, Wendy takes three hits to defeat, upon which she falls off screen. Wendy is seen in the ending with the rest of the Koopalings, although they end up escaping by hanging onto Bowser's tail after the latter inadvertently destroyed [[Bowser Jr.]]'s (already damaged) ship.
